Event Filming Pricing in Hong Kong: What Actually Changes the Number

Ask three vendors for an event filming quote and you can get three very different numbers — not because someone is overcharging, but because "event filming" bundles a few separate decisions: how many cameras, whether you need it same-day, and whether photography comes with it. Here is how our own pricing breaks down, so you know what you're paying for before you ask.

The starting point: what HKD 6,000 already includes

Our event filming starts at HKD 6,000 for a single camera, up to a half-day (4 hours) shoot. That price already includes a 60–90 second highlight edit — you don't pay extra to get a cut-down video out of the footage; it's part of the base, not an add-on.

From there, the number moves in one direction only: up, and only when you add something the base doesn't cover — more cameras, a faster turnaround, or photography alongside the video.

Cameras: why multi-camera events cost more

A single camera works for most ceremonies and small events — one operator following the stage or the room. Once you need multiple angles at once (a stage plus a wide crowd shot, or two ends of a hall), that's a second crew member and a second set of equipment running simultaneously, not just "more footage."

Multi-camera adds HKD 5,000 on top of the base, so a half-day multi-camera event filming job starts at HKD 11,000.

Same-day delivery: what the rush premium actually buys

The default turnaround gives an editor normal working time to cut the highlight properly. Same-day delivery compresses that into hours after the event ends — which means the editor is often on standby that day rather than scheduled elsewhere, and the edit gets rushed through instead of queued normally.

Same-day delivery adds HKD 3,000, so a single-camera event with same-day highlight delivery starts at HKD 9,000.

Adding photography

Some events want stills for the newsletter or social media alongside the video — a photographer working the same room while the video crew covers the stage. Photography adds HKD 4,000 on top of the base, so single-camera filming plus photography starts at HKD 10,000.

Typical combinations, priced

These are the combinations we quote most often, built from the base plus the add-ons above — not flat package prices, so you can see exactly what you're paying for each piece.

What actually differs between graduations, open days, dinners and corporate events

Graduations and open days are usually single-camera, half-day jobs — a fixed programme in one hall, which is exactly what the base price is built for.

Dinners and award ceremonies often run longer and need a second angle to cover both the stage and the tables, which is where multi-camera comes in. Corporate events (launches, conferences, AGMs) vary the most — some are a single speaker in a boardroom, others are a full-day multi-camera production with a producer on-site, so these get scoped individually rather than quoted off a single number.

The one constant: tell us the hall size, programme length and camera count you expect, and we can usually confirm which tier applies before you commit to anything.

How to get a real number

Send us the event type, date, venue, roughly how many hours it runs, and whether you need same-day delivery or photography. We quote on WhatsApp, usually the same day — no discovery call required just to learn a ballpark.

Frequently asked

How much does event filming cost in Hong Kong?+

It starts at HKD 6,000 for a single camera, half-day shoot with a 60–90 second highlight edit included. Multi-camera adds HKD 5,000, photography adds HKD 4,000, and same-day delivery adds HKD 3,000 — so most jobs land between HKD 6,000 and HKD 14,000 depending on what's added.

How much extra is same-day delivery?+

HKD 3,000 on top of the base price. It covers rushing the highlight edit through in the hours after the event instead of on a normal turnaround schedule.

Why do event filming quotes vary so much between vendors?+

Because "event filming" isn't one service — camera count, turnaround speed, and whether photography or a highlight edit is included all move the price. Two quotes for the "same" event can differ a lot if one includes a second camera or a same-day cut and the other doesn't.

How do I get a quote for my event?+

Send the event type, date, venue, roughly how long it runs and any must-haves (same-day, photography, multi-camera) on WhatsApp. We usually reply the same day with a firm number.

Does the highlight edit cost extra?+

No — a 60–90 second highlight is included in the HKD 6,000 base price, not a separate line item.
